Since 1989
We have run a season every year for over three decades
PD Consortium began as a live seminar series for accountants in Toronto and moved online, where it has stayed. The format changed. The commitment did not: there has not been a year without a season.
The record
Firms are not locked in, and they re-book anyway
The figure worth weighing is the renewal rate. No contract holds a firm in place, so a season has to earn its re-booking on its own merits every summer. Some of the firms in the group today were in it at the start.

What we think this work is
Five things we run the programme by
- Learning should be live and human
- Real presenters, real questions, real engagement. A back-catalogue of recordings ticked off in the background is not the same thing, and everyone involved knows it.
- Your firm is not a training department
- Planning, compliance and reporting are our job. If our work adds work at your end, we have done it wrong.
- Together is cheaper and better
- Pooling a season across firms means even a small practice gets a programme it could not fund alone. That is the entire reason a consortium exists.
- Evidence should be fair
- Participation is human and imperfect. Records reflect that honestly and can always be reviewed, because the point is evidence rather than enforcement.
- Relationships outlast transactions
- Retention matters more to us than any single sale. Renewals are earned by being useful for a whole season, not by a contract.
Who runs it
Led by practitioners, not administrators
Curriculum and firm relationships sit with the people named here. Behind them, Attendell provides the delivery platform, the session operations and the attendance reporting, with the team and systems that run programmes for other consortia too.
So a firm gets a named person who knows its practice, and an organisation behind them large enough that no season depends on any one diary.
- Marc TurnerProgramme Director
- Runs delivery, reporting and the commercial side of the consortium.
- Roger MehtaCurriculum Lead
- Builds each season, sources and briefs the presenters, and holds the firm relationships.
How the programme is delivered
Curation sits with us, delivery sits with Attendell
PD Consortium builds the curriculum, books the presenters and holds the relationship with your firm. Attendell, a professional development provider, runs the live sessions, reconciles attendance and produces the reporting your firm sees.
It is a division of labour that has held for years: judgement about what a practice needs to learn is a different discipline from running sessions and reconciling records for hundreds of people.
